Chrome extension

Style Capture privacy.

Effective October 5, 2026. This page covers the Gavana Style Capture extension for Chrome. The website and the signed-in app have their own privacy page.

What the extension does

Gavana Style Capture saves images you choose from the web, keeps a link back to where each one came from, and can turn a saved image into a reusable style prompt for Gavana.

What it handles

  • Images you choose to save, by dragging them into the extension, right-clicking and choosing “Save to Gavana,” pasting a link, or uploading a file
  • The address and title of the page each image came from
  • The style description made for an image, and any edits you make to it
  • If you connect a Gavana account, an access token for that account
  • If you add one, your OpenRouter API key

It does not ask for a password, payment card, or your name.

Where it is stored

Your saved images and style cards stay in the extension’s storage on your device. They are not sent to us.

Your Gavana sign-in and your OpenRouter key are kept in session storage. Chrome clears them when you close the browser.

When data leaves your device

Only when you act:

  • Turn into prompt sends that image to OpenRouter (openrouter.ai) with your key, so an AI model can describe it. OpenRouter’s privacy policy applies to that request.
  • Save to Gavana uploads the image and the style you kept to your own Gavana account at app.gavana.ai.
  • Saving an image downloads it from the site it is on, without sending your cookies.

What it does not do

The extension does not collect analytics. It does not track your browsing, and it does not read pages you have not acted on.

It asks for access to a website only when you save an image from that site, and only for that site.

We do not sell this data, and we do not share it with anyone other than the services named above, and only when you ask.

Your controls

  • Delete any card from the extension’s Library
  • Remove the extension to delete all of its local data
  • Disconnect Gavana in the extension’s Settings, or revoke its access from your Gavana account

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, we will update the effective date at the top.
